We invite and welcome students, parents, and friends to the Annual Mountain View Christian School Homecoming, which is being held on Friday, February 24, 2023. The Homecoming games begin at 6 p.m.

C. J. Ball and Donnie Carrico are also representing the senior class. Make sure to come to the basketball game and Homecoming Court Ceremony on Friday to see which one is crowned Homecoming Knight and which one is crowned Homecoming King.
SENIOR RECOGNITION NIGHT: We will be recognizing our seniors on Friday, February 24. We are very proud to be able to honor our seniors for their accomplishments through their participation in the athletic program at Mountain View Christian School.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS CONCERNING SPIRIT WEEK
SPIRIT WEEK: February 20-24, 2023. This is a week that students are encouraged to dress up to show school spirit. Following is the dress up schedule:
MONDAY, FEB. 20 – Buddy Day – Parents of younger students should have received a note from the older buddies stating what the buddies have decided to wear Monday to match. We will also have a special chapel at 10 a.m.
TUESDAY, FEB. 21 – Pajama Day – Robes, slippers, blankets, teddy bears! Try not to fall asleep during class!
WEDNESDAY, FEB. 22 – For Elementary students Blast from the Past/For Secondary Students Generations
THURSDAY, FEB. 23 – Cowboy verses Country Club – Come in your best western wear or very fancy dress clothes!
FRIDAY, FEB. 24 – SPIRIT DAY – Support your school and elementary basketball team by dressing in school colors: red, white, and blue!
DAILY WINNERS of the dress up each day will have their names entered into a drawing for a gift card. Two names will be drawn during the Pep Rally.
DOOR DECORATING: Each class will decorate their door for Spirit Week! The winning class will receive an ice cream party from Student Council! Doors will be judged on Monday, February 20th. The winning door will be announced at the Pep Rally.
CHEER CHALLENGE: Each class will present a cheer at the Pep Rally. The winning cheer will be combined with the weekly participation to determine who wins the Spirit Stick. Elementary cheerleaders will be planning the Pep Rally, which will be on Friday, February 24th, at 9:00 a.m., and they will be presenting the Spirit Stick. (Notice that the time of the Pep Rally has been changed from last week’s newsletter.)
SOMETHING NEW AT MOUNTAIN VIEW! We have installed water filling stations throughout the school! If you send a water bottle with your child, he/she can fill it with clean, filtered water. This will prevent your child from having to buy water from the school. We wanted you to be aware of this so the children can take advantage of this great opportunity to have water whenever they need it.
WEST VIRGINIA HISTORY BOWL: We are proud to announce that four of our eighth graders participated in the WV History Bowl, and their team was Runner Up! They are now invited to go to the 2023 State WV History Bowl! Congratulations to Jed Taylor, Eli Watson, Braedyn Yellets, and Maraeya Stewart.
REMINDER: Mountain View Christian School is a closed campus; therefore, students are not to leave the campus for lunch.
