ARCHERY NEWS FROM COACH MELISSA GILKERSON

On January 24th, the archery team participated in a virtual tournament with Mount Hope Christian Academy.  There were 3 divisions:  Elementary, Middle School, and Varsity.

Our team consists of numerous new members, some of which this is their first time at being part of such an event.  Our elementary archers, though they did not place, shot very well for their first match.  Our girl high shooter was Jasper Massey with a score of 132.  Our boy high shooter was Chase Mauritz with a score of 117.

The middle school archers shot well, too.  Some of our middle school archers shot their best scores yet at this match.  J. D. Mauritz placed 2nd with a score of 258, and Devil Linville placed 3rd with a score of 254.

With our varsity division, Alex Huddleston placed 3rd with his highest career score of 233.

Great job to all who placed! I am so proud of each and every one of our students! Continue to grow and learn and master the art of archery!

WAY TO GO MVCS ARCHERY TEAM 2018-2019

VOLUNTEER ARCHERY POSITIONS NEEDED:  Coach Gilkerson is in need of someone to assist her during the archery practices.

In order to be an Assistant Archery Coach, one must attend an eight-hour class.  If you would be interested in taking the class, please call the school for more information.

If no one is interested in taking the class, there is a need for someone who could assist in supervising students.  This is a need in order for us to have the utmost safety for our students.  If you are interested, please contact the office.
