THANKSGIVING BREAK – We will have a full day of school on Monday, November 19th and a noon dismissal on Tuesday, November 20th. There will be no afternoon extended care available on the noon dismissal day.

Our Thanksgiving break will begin on Wednesday, November 21st. School will resume on Monday, November 26th.

SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR VETERAN’S DAY SPEAKER MR. DAN HOLSTEIN – We will never forget how blessed we are to have our veterans who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION – OCTOBER WINNERS

Alex Burford – Sixth Grade  1,050 box tops

Devin Linville – Seventh Grade  80 box tops

LUNCH MENUS – Menus for December and January are being sent home today, November 16th.  Both months are being sent home at once due to the food orders being placed for the holidays.  The menu, with the amount due, must be returned to the school by Tuesday, November 20th.

MOUNTAIN VIEW CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES FAIR – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH

PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – The National Honor Society is hosting their annual Breakfast with Santa on Friday, December 7, 2018.  The cost is $5 for each child, which will include pancakes, 1 sausage, 1 drink, and a 4×6 picture with Santa.  If your child wants the breakfast only, the cost is $4.00. The forms for this exciting event were distributed today.

Nov. 30 – Wear your ugly Christmas sweater

Dec. 3 – “Wise Men Bearing Gifts” Bring canned or boxed food

Dec. 4 – “Oh, Come Let us Adore Him” Dress like an angel or shepherd

Dec. 5 – Wear a Christmas hat, headband, or socks

Dec 6 – Dress like an elf

Dec. 7 – Breakfast with Santa

Dec. 10 – Christmas Program

Dec. 11 – Wear your favorite Christmas shirt

Dec. 12 – MVCS Choir Concert

Dec. 13 – Wear your Christmas Pajamas

Dec. 14 – Class Parties – Noon Dismissal

 

THE CHRISTMAS STORE IS COMING TO MOUNTAIN VIEW! Students in K-3 through 12th grades will be able to shop for Christmas gifts to give to all members of their family (even pets!). The store will be available on Monday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 4th. All items will be priced at $2 each.

ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – MONDAY, DECEMBER 10TH. There will be two performances. One at 9 a.m. and one at 6 p.m. You will not want to miss this wonderful performance!

MVCS CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT – WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12TH AT 2:30 P.M. EVERYONE IS INVITED TO COME TO ENJOY THIS GREAT ANOINTED CHOIR!

REMINDER CONCERNING OUR WEATHER AND/OR UNFORESEEN EMERGENCIES

In case of inclement weather and/or unforeseen emergencies, you will need to listen to the following radio and/or TV stations to receive information.  Please make sure we have your up-to-date telephone numbers in case we would need to contact you during the school day.

If there would be a problem concerning ONLY Mountain View Christian School (such as water or heat, etc.) your child’s teacher will call you.  Please do not accept information except from them.

PRE-SCHOOL 2-HOUR DELAY REMINDER – If Mountain View has a delay, the 3 year olds, who are 1/2 day students, will have class from 10:30 – 12 noon instead of the regular 8:30-noon schedule.  Full day K-4 students will have class beginning at 10:30 and ending at 2:30 p.m. as usual.

REMINDER CONCERNING HOT LUNCHES – In the event of a 2-hour delay, please remember that no hot lunches will be served on this day.  Please pack your child’s lunch.  Snacks and milk will be available.

I Corinthians 10:13 exhorts us to do all we do for the glory of God.  Mountain View Christian School is so blessed to have faculty and staff who certainly follow that concept. Many sacrifices are made by our teachers to fulfill a call they believe is from God.  With joy and thanksgiving for each child, they labor diligently each day to express the love of God and to make an imprint that will never fade in the lives of your sons and daughters.  Please pray daily for God’s provision and anointing on their lives.
