THANKSGIVING BREAK: There will be NO SCHOOL IN THE BUILDING the week of November 21-25. For Monday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 22nd, students will have REMOTE INSTRUCTION< WITH PACKETS sent home. The completed packets must be returned to the teacher when school resumes on Monday, November 28th. The remainder of the week, November 23-25 will be considered the Thanksgiving break as per the calendar.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING HOPE SCHOLARSHIP

Parents of students previously approved for the Hope Scholarship for the 2022-2023 school year will be receiving an email with a survey to complete. To receive Hope Scholarship funding for the 2022-2023 school year, a response is required. Failure to respond to this survey by December 2, 2022, will indicate you no longer wish for your child to participate in the Hope Scholarship for this current school year. Please check your email and take care of this right away.

COOKIE DOUGH DISTRIBUTION AND NOON DISMISSAL: The cookie dough items will be distributed at school on Friday, November 18th. ALL STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED AT NOON SO THEY WILL BE ABLE TO DELIVER ITEMS THEY SOLD. NO AFTERNOON EXTENDED CARE WILL BE AVAILABLE.

INFORMATION REGARDING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH SCHEDULE: Thanksgiving Chapel will be held in the Sanctuary beginning at 10:30 a.m. and lasting approximately an hour. Remember, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. to stop to enjoy some refreshments and view the secondary’s showcase of their classroom work in the foyer area of the church. At the end of chapel, parents are to remain in the sanctuary while students return to their classrooms to pack up. The students will then return to the sanctuary. All will then be given instructions regarding dismissal and cookie dough pick-up procedures. Dismissal will be at 12:00.

If you are not planning to attend chapel, EVERYONE, INCLUDING PRE-SCHOOL, must park the car and enter the building through the church doors, under the red canopy, in order to pick up the children and/or cookie dough at noon. There will be no drive-through pick-up on this day.

THE CHRISTMAS STORE IS COMING TO MOUNTAIN VIEW!

Students in grades K-3 through 12th grades will be able to shop for Christmas gifts to give to all members of their family. The store will operate from December 5-9. Send a list with your younger children as to who they will be shopping for, and someone will help them with choosing gifts. All items will be priced at $2 each.

THANKSGIVING CHAPEL WILL BE A COMBINED CHAPEL ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH AT 10:30 A.M. Each elementary class will be doing something special!

The secondary students will have a showcase of their class work/reception from 9:30 – 10:25 a.m. in the foyer of the church prior to the Chapel. This will be the secondary students’ contribution to the chapel service. We would like to encourage all parents to enjoy the light refreshments and take a few minutes to look at the secondary students’ talents before chapel.

LOADS OF LOVE: We will be collecting laundry items for “Loads of Love” on Friday, Nov. 18th. Laundry baskets will be in the foyer for your donations. Thank you very much for helping us with this much-needed and appreciated act of love.

PROGRESS REPORTS – NOVEMBER 29TH

PRE-SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – MONDAY, DECEMBER 12TH AT 9:00 A.M. The elementary program will follow.

ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – The program is entitled, “It All Happened in the Country.” will be presented on Monday, Dec. 12th, at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday, Dec.13th at 6:30 p.m. Both performances are the same program; they are just scheduled for different days for your convenience. You will not want to miss it!

SPECIAL OFFERING: At the conclusion of the morning and evening elementary Christmas programs on Dec. 12th and Dec. 13th, a special offering will be taken for our faculty and staff bonuses.

Please be prepared to help us in this area. Please let them know how much they are appreciated.

MVCS CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT: This program will be presented on Thursday, December 15th, at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
