ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ANNUAL COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER:  There are only a few more days to sell the cookie dough! This is a great product and almost sells itself! Your completed orders must be turned in to your child’s teacher by Monday, October 7th with the money attached.  The cookie dough and coffee orders will be ready to be picked up at school on Friday, November 8th at noon.  Thank you very much for helping us to accomplish our goal!

FALL FESTIVAL 2019

The Fall Festival is scheduled for Friday, October 25, 2019, from 6 – 8 p.m. in the gym.  Following is some important information concerning this day:

1.  School will be dismissed at noon on October 25th in order for us to prepare for the Fall Festival.

2.  Lunches will not be served on this day.

3.  Afternoon Extended Care will not be available.

4.  Please make arrangements for your children to be picked up by noon on this day.

ADMISSION TO THE FALL FESTIVAL WILL BE ONE CAN OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD PER FAMILY.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DATE ON THE CAN IS NOT EXPIRED.  THESE ITEMS WILL BE DONATED

TO A WORTHY CAUSE.

Items needed for the Fall Festival are baked goods, new items and craft items for the Country Store and Silent Auction.

ATTENTION ALL BAKERS!  We will be having the Cake Walk and the Cupcake Walk again this year.  Please bake your best cakes and cupcakes and send them so the children can participate in the “Cake Walk” and “Cupcake Walk.”

The Country Store is in need of baked goods (such as cakes, pies, candy, breads, popcorn balls, etc.) and homemade arts and craft items.  (If you make baked goods, be sure to attach a list of ingredients for allergy purposes and put the price you would like the item sold for.) The arts and crafts items also need to be priced before bringing them to school.

**Please bring your fresh baked items to the school gym on Friday, October 25th after noon.

HAVE DINNER WITH US AT THE FESTIVAL! Plan to bring your family and have dinner with us at the Fall Festival.  We will be having BBQ’s, pizza, hot dogs, and nachos.

CLASS PROJECTS TO BE AUCTIONED AT THE FALL FESTIVAL!  Each class from Pre-School through 6th Grade will be making a class project that will be auctioned off at the Fall Festival.  Be there to bid on the class project that your child or grandchild had a hand in making!

K-3 through 12th grade students are asked to bring one bag of individually wrapped candy (no suckers, gum, candy with witches, ghosts, body parts, or any other gory candy please).  We would appreciate it if you would send the candy to your child’s teacher by October 18th so that we have plenty of time to fill the treat bags that will be distributed at the Fall Festival.

PREPAID PASS INFORMATION:  Pre-paid Passes for the Fall Festival games are available for a cost of $5.00 each.  This pass entitles your child to play all the games at the Fall Festival as many times as they want, except the ones that are sponsored by the school clubs.  These passes must be purchased from your child’s teacher beginning Monday, October 21st until Friday, October 25th at noon.  THESE PASSES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT THE FALL FESTIVAL–THEY MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE! You may purchase individual tickets at the Fall Festival for a cost of 5 for $1.00 or 25 cents each.

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST:  Since we are not painting pumpkins at school this year, we are having a contest for those students who would like to decorate a pumpkin at home and bring it to school decorated on Thursday, October 24th.  On Fall Festival night, 2 winners will be chosen.  There will be a Judges Pick and a Voter’s Choice Award.  Anyone can vote that night between 6 and 7 p.m.  Each vote costs 25 cents.  You can vote as many times as you like.  The winners will be announced after the votes have been counted at 7 p.m.

You can decorate your pumpkin with whatever materials you wish.  (No ghosts, devils, or any themes not permitted at school.) Be creative! Good luck!

PAPER PUMPKINS – In lieu of painting pumpkins at school this year we are selling paper pumpkins for $1.00 each.  The children will write the chosen name on the pumpkin and decorate it for Fall Festival night at school.

THERE WILL BE A BOUNCY HOUSE WITH A SLIDE AT THE FESTIVAL THIS YEAR.  THE COST WILL BE $2.00 FOR 5 MINUTES.

COSTUME JUDGING:  STUDENTS IN K-3 THROUGH 6TH GRADE WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COSTUME CONTEST MUST WEAR THEIR COSTUMES TO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25TH.  If the child wants to change after the judging, please send the proper school attire.  The only costumes that will be considered for competition will be students dressed in Biblical or God’s Creation costumes.  NO COSTUMES OF SATAN ALLOWED.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD IN COSTUMES OTHER THAN THOSE MENTIONED.  The juding will take place during the chapel service that is scheduled for Friday, October 25th at 9:00 a.m.

SKATING PARTY FOR PRE-SCHOOL THROUGH 12TH GRADE: The secondary students (grades 7-12) clubs will be sponsoring this event in order to raise money for the individual clubs. Your child will receive a form to complete and return to MVCS if you are interested in your child participating.

The Skating Party will be held at MacArthur Skating Rink on Thursday, October 10th, from 6-8 p.m.

Admission is $5.00 per student.  Snacks and drinks will be included.  Students attending this event who are in Pre-School through 6th grade must have an adult present at the skating rink AT ALL TIMES. Guests, such as family and friends, are also invited.  We ask that they prepay also, so that we will have enough snacks for everyone.  Guests may pay at the door, but are not guaranteed a snack.

Checks should be made out to Mountain View Christian School.  The completed form, with the amount due attached, should be returned to the school by Monday, October 7th.
