COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER:  There are only a few more days to sell the cookie dough! This is a great product and almost sells itself! Your completed orders must be turned in to your child’s teacher by Monday, October 8th with the money attached.  The orders will be ready to be picked up at school on or about November 8th.  Thank you very much for helping us to accomplish our goal!

SCHOOL PICTURES:  Forms must be turned in by October 12th to avoid handling fees.

 Congratulations to each of our spelling bee winners! The Fayette County Elementary Spelling Bee (4th Grade Only) will be held Tuesday, October 30th at Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene.  Registration is at 9:45 a.m.  The official Fayette County Spelling Bee (Grades 4-8) will be held December 7th at the Lewis Community Center, Central Avenue, Oak Hill. Registration is at 9:45 a.m.  Two representatives from this school will compete at each county bee.

There will be a bake sale at the car wash also.  This is a great opportunity to help our athletic department and get a clean car in the process!

WEATHER AND/OR UNFORESEEN EMERGENCY REMINDER:

In case of inclement weather and/or unforeseen emergencies, you will need to listen to the following radio and/or TV stations to receive information.  Please make sure we have your up-to-date telephone numbers in case we would need to contact you during the school day.

If there would be a problem concerning ONLY Mountain View Christian School (such as water problems, no heat, etc.) your child’s teacher will call you.  Please do not accept any information except from them.

PRE-SCHOOL 2-HOUR DELAY REMINDER:  If Mountain View has a 2-hour delay, the 3 year olds, who are 1/2 day students, will have class from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. instead of the regular 8:30 – 12:00 p.m. schedule. Full day K-4 students will have class beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. as usual.

REMINDER CONCERNING HOT LUNCHES – In the event of a 2-hour delay, please remember that no hot lunches will be served on this day.  Please pack your child’s lunch.  Snacks and milk will still be available.

FALL FESTIVAL 2018

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2018

6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

GYMNASIUM

The following is some important information concerning this day:

  1.  School will be dismissed at noon on October 19th in order to prepare for the Fall Festival.
  2. Lunches WILL NOT be served on this day.
  3. Afternoon Extended Care WILL NOT be available.
  4. Please make arrangements for your child/children to be picked up by noon on this day.

NEW THIS YEAR – “MINUTE TO WIN IT” GAME

Compete with your friends for a prize! Cost will be $1.00 per participant.  Get together with your friends and have some fun, friendly competition.

ADMISSION TO THE FALL FESTIVAL – One can of non-perishable food per family.  PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DATE ON THE CAN IS NOT EXPIRED. THESE ITEMS WILL BE DONATED TO A WORTHY CAUSE.

ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE FESTIVAL – Fodder Shocks for our Fall Festival Decorations – Baked goods, new items, and craft items for the Country Store and Silent Auction.

ATTENTION ALL BAKERS!! We will be having the Cake Walk and the Cupcake Walk again this year.  Please bake your best cakes and cupcakes and send them so the children can participate in the Cake Walk and Cupcake Walk.

The Country Store is in need of baked goods (pies, cakes, candy, breads, popcorn balls, etc.) and homemade arts and craft items.  (If you make baked goods, be sure to attach a list of ingredients for allergy purposes and put the price you would like the items sold for.) The art and craft items also need to be priced before bringing them to school.

PLEASE BRING YOUR FRESH BAKED GOOD TO THE SCHOOL GYM ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19TH AFTER NOON.

HAVE DINNER WITH US AT THE FESTIVAL! Plan to bring your family and have dinner.  We will be having BBQ’s, pizza, hot dogs, and nachos.

CLASS APRONS TO BE AUCTIONED AT FALL FESTIVAL! Each class from Pre-School through 2nd Grade will make a decorative apron that will be auctioned off at the Fall Festival.  Be there to bid on the apron that your child or grandchild had a hand in making!

K-3 through 12th grade students are asked to bring one bag of individually wrapped candy (no suckers, gum, candy with witches, ghosts, body parts, or any other gory candy please). We would appreciate it if you would send the candy to your child’s teacher by October 15th so that we have plenty of time to fill the bags that will be distributed during the Festival.

PRE-PAID PASS INFORMATION:  Pre-Paid Passes for the Festival games are available for $5.00 each.  This pass entitles your child to play all the games at the Festival as many times as they want, except the ones which are sponsored by the school clubs.  These passes may be purchased from your child’s classroom teacher beginning Monday, October 15th until Friday, October 19th at noon.  THESE PASSES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT THE FESTIVAL–THEY MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE! You may purchase individual tickets at the Fall Festival for a cost of 5 for $1.00 or 25 cents each.

PUMPKIN PAINTING:  The children will be painting a pumpkin at school the week of the festival.  The winning pumpkin from each class will receive a prize.

COSTUME JUDGING:  Students in K-3 through 6th grade who wish to participate in the costume contest must wear their costumes to school on Friday, October 19th.  If your child wants to change after the judging, please send proper school attire.  The only costumes that will be considered for competition will be students dressed in Biblical or God’s Creation costumes.

NO COSTUMES OF SATAN ALLOWED.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD IN COSTUMES OTHER THAN THOSE MENTIONED.  The judging will take place during the chapel service that is scheduled for Friday, October 19th at 9:00 a.m.
