ANNUAL COOKIE DOUGH PROJECT: The Cookie Dough, Coffee, and Snack-a-licious (popcorn, pretzels, etc.) forms were sent home with your child today. ALL ITEMS ARE $17.00 EACH. Your completed orders, along with the money attached, must be turned in to your child’s teacher by Monday, October 18. Your orders will be ready to be picked up at school on Friday, November 19. Please read the letter than is enclosed with the order forms carefully. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

ELEMENTARY CHAPEL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 11. WE WILL SEPARATE THE CLASSES IN THE SANCTUARY TO KEEP EVERYONE PROPERLY SPACED TO STAY SAFE. REMINDER: NO JEANS OR SHORTS ON THIS DAY.

SECONDARY CHAPEL STUDENTS WILL BE WRITING LETTERS TO SHUT-INS AND/OR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE DURING THEIR CHAPEL TIME. WHAT A GREAT AND MUCH NEEDED MINISTRY THIS WILL BE TO THE PEOPLE WHO RECEIVE THE LETTERS.

WINNERS OF THE MVCS SPELLING BEE ANNOUNCED:

Fourth Grade: 1st Place – Jaxon Parrish 2nd Place – Marshall Faherty 3rd Place – Jeffrey Floyd

This competition was 16 rounds. The winning word was “prize.”

Fourth to Eighth Grade: 1st Place – Wyatt Aliff 2nd Place – Ben Keffer 3rd Place – Sidney Skidmore

The competition was 14 rounds. The winning word was “cobblestone.”

CONGRATULATIONS TO EACH OF OUR SPELLING BEE WINNERS! We do not have the information concerning the Fayette County Spelling Bee at this point. We will inform you of that when we get that information.

TUITION PAYMENT REMINDER – OCTOBER TUITION IS DUE ON OCTOBER 10TH.

WE NEED YOUR HELP: Dismissal time at the end of the day is a busy time for everyone, and we know that the children are excited to be dismissed from school. When your child is dismissed to your care, would you please make sure your child stays with you until you get into your car. This could be a dangerous situation if your child would happen to wander into the parking lot where cars are coming and going. Thank you for your help concerning this matter. Your child’s safety is our top priority during this time.

REMINDER CONCERNING FALL FUN DAY THAT IS TAKING PLACE ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29TH. The Secondary clubs are sponsoring some activities for the elementary students on this day for a cost of $5.00. If you are interested in your child participating in these activities, the form and payment is due by Tuesday, October 12th, but has been extended to Friday, October 15th.

ATHLETIC NEWS – Mrs. Melissa Gilkerson, MVCS Athletic Director, would like to announce that Mark and Michelle Faherty are our new elementary basketball coaches. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Faherty! We know you will enjoy your time with the elementary basketball team!

If any students in 3rd through 5th grades would be interested in basketball, please let Mrs. Gilkerson know as soon as possible so she can have an accurate roster for the coaches.

We are still in need of a coach for boy’s varsity. Please let Mrs. Gilkerson know as soon as possible if you are interested.
