LUNCH HEAT-UPS: Elementary Parents: Please be reminded that if you send food for lunch with your child that needs heated, it needs to be able to be heated for under 1 minute. If there is only one teacher heating food, it may be hard for some students to have time to eat during their scheduled lunch time. Thank you so much for helping us in this area.
MVCS SPELLING BEE: The Spelling Bee is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary for selected students in 4th – 8th grades. Parents of contestants are welcome to attend. Please note that the time of the Bee was changed from 9:30 – 9:00 a.m.
OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR IS BACK!
The home style ready-to-bake Cookie Dough, the Ultimate Coffee Collection, and the Gourmet Popcorn forms will be sent home with your child next Friday, October 7th.
All items are $18 each. Your completed orders, with money attached, must be returned to your child’s teacher by Monday, October 17th. Your orders will be ready to be picked up at school on Thursday, November 10. Please read the letter that will be enclosed with the order forms carefully. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

FALL FESTIVAL 2022
The Fall Festival is scheduled for Friday, October 28, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING THE FESTIVAL:
- School will be dismissed at noon on October 28th, in order for us to prepare for the Fall Festival.
- Lunches will not be served on this day.
- Afternoon extended care will not be available.
- Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up by noon on this day.
ADMISSION TO THE FALL FESTIVAL WILL BE ONE CAN OF NON-PERISHABLE FOOD PER FAMILY. PLEASE MAKE SURE THE DATE ON THE CAN IS NOT EXPIRED. THESE ITEMS WILL BE DONATED TO A WORTHY CAUSE.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of volunteers to work a 30 minute shift at a game that night. The more parents that volunteer, the more games we can have. Please send your child’s teacher a note with the name of who can volunteer in your family.
ITEMS NEEDED FOR FALL FESTIVAL: Baked goods, new items and craft items for the Country Store and Silent Auction.
THE COUNTRY STORE is in need of baked goods (such as cakes, pies, candy, breads, popcorn balls, etc.) and homemade arts and craft items. (If you make baked goods, be sure to attach a list of ingredients for allergy purposes and put the price you would like the items sold for.) The arts and crafts items also need to be priced before bringing them to school.
**PLEASE BRING YOUR FRESH BAKED ITEMS TO THE SCHOOL GYM ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28TH AFTER NOON.
HAVE DINNER WITH US AT THE FESTIVAL: Plan to bring your family and have dinner with us at the Fall Festival. We will have BB!’s, pizza, hot dogs, and nachos.
CLASS PROJECTS TO BE AUCTIONED AT THE FESTIVAL! Each class from pre-school through 6th grade will make a class project that will be auctioned off at the Festival. Be there to bid on the class project that your child or grandchild had a hand in making.
CANDY NEEDED: K-3 through 12th grade students are asked to bring one bag of individually wrapped candy (no suckers, gum, candy with witches, ghosts, body parts or any other gory candy please). We would appreciate it if you would send the candy to your child’s teacher by October 18th so we can have plenty of time to fill the treat bags that will be distributed during the Fall Festival.
PREPAID PASS INFORMATION: Prepaid passes for the Fall Festival games are available at a cost of $6 each. This pass entitles your child to play all the games as many times as they want, except the ones that are sponsored by the school clubs and the bounce house. These passes may be purchased from your child’s classroom teacher beginning Monday, October 24th until Friday, October 28th at noon. THESE PASSES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT THE FALL FESTIVAL–THEY MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE! You may purchase individual tickets at the Fall Festival for a cost of 5 for $1.00 or 25 cents each.
THERE WILL BE A BOUNCE HOUSE AT THE FESTIVAL. THE COST IS $2 FOR 5 MINUTES.
Each student in kindergarten through 6th grade will be making a “Fall About Me” poster to create a giant pumpkin patch on the gym walls for the Festival, and the preschool will be making a special craft. Please send in $1 per child for this special project. The children will get to bring them home to keep after the Festival.
COSTUME JUDGING: Students in Preschool through 6th grade who wish to participate in the costume contest must wear their costumes to school on Friday, October 28th. If your child wants to change after judging, please send the proper school attire. THE ONLY COSTUMES THAT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR COMPETITION WILL BE STUDENTS DRESSED IN BIBLICAL OR GOD’S CREATION COSTUMES.
NO COSTUMES OF SATAN ALLOWED. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD IN COSTUMES OTHER THAN THOSE MENTIONED. THE JUDGING WILL TAKE PLACE DURING THE CHAPEL SERVICE THAT IS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28TH AT 9 A.M.
