NOON DISMISSAL – MONDAY, APRIL 8, 2024 – Due to the vision safety of our students because of the solar eclipse, Mountain View Christian School will be dismissed at noon on this day. There will be no afternoon extended care available.
ELEMENTARY CHAPEL – The elementary chapel for next week will be on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 9 a.m. Mrs. Pennington will be the speaker, and fifth grade will be leading the service with prayers and memorization. Reminder: No jeans, t-shirts, or shorts are to be worn on chapel days.
RE-ENROLLMENT – Please be reminded that your completed application, along with the enrollment fee of $150.00 should be returned by Monday, April 8 2024. After April 8th, new student enrollment begins, and some classes may be filled.
The application also includes the book list for your child’s upcoming grade. The book fees are due to be paid in full by May 13, 2024. Books will not be ordered until paid in full.
*All accounts must be up-to-date before enrolling your child. If your account is past due, please contact the office and speak to Mrs. Calvert.
ELEMENTARY LUNCH INFORMATION: Please do not send pop, suckers, or powered candy tubes in your child’s lunch. Also, if you want your child to have macaroni and cheese, etc., in a store bought original microwave container, please cook it at home first so that it just needs heated for 1 minute or less. The same goes for popcorn. Do not send microwavable popcorn in the original bag. If you want to send popcorn, microwave it at home and place in zip lock bag or other container.
USED BOOKS: If you are interested in used books for the coming year, please send a note, attached to your child’s enrollment application requesting them. You may also call the office. You must be enrolled for the coming year before you can be put on the used book list.
HOPE SCHOLARSHIP ENROLLMENT FOR MVCS STUDENTS IN K-4 ONLY: Student in our four year old preschool are eligible to apply for the Hope Scholarship program to enter our Kindergarten program for next year. The receive the full scholarship of $4,921.39 for next school year, applications must be submitted no later than June 15, 2024. Eligible students who apply after that date will receive a prorated funding amount for the 2024-2025 school year. The website to enroll is www.hopescholarshipwv.com.
TERRA NOVA STANDARDIZED TESTING – APRIL 22-26, 2024 – During this week parents should prepare their children by making sure they have plenty of rest and a nourishing breakfast.
TERRA NOVA MOVIE DAY – The National Honor Society will be hosting a movie day again this year celebrating the end of Terra Nova testing on April 26, 2024. You are receiving your order form today with all the fun details.
MVCS YEARBOOKS – Place your order now for our next yearbook. You won’t want to miss all the exciting pictures and memories that are included in it. The cost for the yearbook is $27.00 each. Orders are due by April 29, 2024.
