“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows

in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.”

Psalm 127:3-4

ELEMENTARY CHAPEL – Monday, August 19th at 9:00 a.m. The fifth grade class will be leading the service with prayers and memorization. Mrs. Pennington will be the speaker. REMINDER: No jeans, shorts, or t-shirts on chapel days.

MVCS T-SHIRT ORDER FORMS: T-shirt order forms are due by August 23rd. The cost is $12 for short sleeve, and $16.00 for long sleeve. If you need an order form, you can contact your child’s teacher or the office.

MVCS HANDBOOKS: This would be a great time for you to review the MVCS Handbook. It would help you to be aware of our policies and refresh your memory concerning school information. If you are a new parents this year and did not receive a handbook, please contact Mrs. Calvert in the school office.

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please remember that any time your child is absent, comes to school tardy, and/or leaves early; when they return to school they must bring a note stating the reason for absence, tardy, or early dismissal. The notes can be from a parent and/or guardian, and must be dated and signed to be placed in your child’s file. If they had a doctor’s appointment, etc., you can get an excuse from the doctor for the student’s file.

Remember that 5 unexcused tardies and/or 5 unexcused early dismissals equal one unexcused absence. Your child (PK-6th grades) can bring the note to Mrs. Calvert in the office. If your child is in 7th-12th grades the note can be given to Mrs. Elder in her office downstairs. Thank you for your attention to these important matters.

IMPORTANT DISMISSAL INFORMATION: In order to keep the parking lot accessible to visitors or first responders, we are asking that anyone that is coming to pick up your child in the afternoon, to not arrive on the lot until 3:15 p.m. This ensures the entrance to the school is blocked as little as possible.

EXTENDED CARE CHARGES: The first statement for extended care charges will be sent home for the first few days of September. This will reflect the time your child spent in extended care for the month of August. These charges will be due on September 10th.
