VETERAN’S DAY CHAPEL: There will be no chapel on Monday, November 4th, There will be a special Veteran’s Day chapel on Wednesday, November 6th at 9:00 a.m. Pastor David Altizer will be the speaker for this chapel. This will be a combined chapel for elementary and secondary students. All veterans are welcome to attend.

COOKIE DOUGH FUNDRAISER WINNERS ANNOUNCED: The fundraiser was a great success! There was a total of 894 items sold. The sales totaled over $16,000.00, and we profited over $6,000.00! Thank you very much for all the support.

The top seller for the school was Peyton Barton (K-4) with 56 items sold. Peyton chose the prize of $200.00 cash.

The second place winner was Natalie Ferda (Gr.3) with 53 items sold. Natalie received the prize of a Nintendo Switch game system.

The student who won the drawing for the $50.00 due to selling 10 or more items was Aurora Legg (K-5).

The class who sold the most items was Mrs. Lawhorn’s K-4 class. The class, along with their buddy, Jeffrey Floyd (7th grade) will receive a pizza lunch, along with one hour of free time in the gym.

Congratulations to these winners and all who helped us with this fundraiser!

EARLY DISMISSAL – COOKIE DOUGH DISTRIBUTION DAY – NOVEMBER 8, 2024 – Students who sold cookie dough will be dismissed at noon to be able to distribute the cookie dough, coffee, and popcorn they sold. We have no place to store the cookie dough at the school. If you cannot be here that day by noon, please send someone in your place.

The students who did not sell cookie dough will be dismissed at 1 p.m. This should allow time for the ones who sold to have it loaded in their cars.

There will be no afternoon extended care.

NO SCHOOL – MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2024 IN OBSERVANCE OF VETERAN’S DAY

FALL FESTIVAL 2024 – Much appreciation to the parents, teachers, friends, family, and staff for making this year’s event such a success. The donations of crafts, baked goods, food, monetary contributions, etc. were a great blessing!

SPECIAL THANKS TO MRS. PENNINGTON for acting as chairperson for this annual event. Her offering of time, effort, and talent was invaluable. Also, thanks to the teachers who sponsor clubs and organizations within the school Our secondary teachers did a wonderful job in helping with the festival from beginning to end!

PUMPKIN KING AND QUEEN ANNOUNCED: The following students were “crowned” Pumpkin King and Pumpkin Queen for selling the most paper pumpkins. The paper pumpkin proceeds were for the Junior Honor Club.

THE K-4 Class will receive a pizza lunch for being the top-selling class of paper pumpkins. The date of the lunch is yet to be determined.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: The Fayette Plateau Ministerial Association Food Pantry, in conjunction with the New River Intermediate School has invited our school to participate in collecting food for the Thanksgiving Food Pantry.

They have asked our school to bring 5 pound bags of potatoes. You can bring your bag of potatoes to school beginning November 12, 13, and 14 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Thank you for helping us provide a Thanksgiving meal to others.

IMPORTANT THANKSGIVING BREAK INFORMATION – The School calendar states that for our break we would be in school all day on Monday, November 25th and would be dismissed at noon on Tuesday, November 26th. This schedule has been changed to “Remote Instruction.” No one will be at school on these two days.

Students in every grade will receive a packet of work to be completed. Your child will be responsible for the work to have been completed when we return to school on Monday, December 2nd.

RADA CUTLERY: You should have received a Rada Cutlery catalog sent home with your child last week. This is not a contest. We have had several people ask if we would be selling this again because they like the product so much.

If you or anyone you know would like to place an order, please complete the order form and return it, along with the amount due by Monday, November 4th. We should have the orders back within a couple weeks, just in time for Christmas.

These items make wonderful gifts! We hope you see some things that you need or would like to have. Several items are on sale!

PIE SALE: If you haven’t returned your order form for a slice (or more) of pie, your order, along with the amount due attached, must be returned by Wednesday, November 6th. The pie will be served during lunch on Friday, November 15th. The Pie Sale is sponsored by National Honor Society.
